Israel touch

From WikiLectures

It is a bimanual palpation of the kidney. The patient lies on his back with his lower limbs slightly bent. We are palpating in the lumbar region. With one hand, we push the kidney from below ventrally towards the other hand, immersed to a depth of a few centimeters below the rib arch. A normal kidney is not palpable . It is positive for hydronephrosis, polycystosis, solitary cyst and kidney tumors.

In the case of an examination of a child, we examine with one hand. The child is in a sideways position with slightly bent knees.
