Osteotomy

From WikiLectures

Pelvic osteotomy

Osteotomy is the cutting of a bone, most often with a saw. It is used to adjust the axial deviation, lengthen or shorten the bone [1] (after cutting the bone, the bone fragments are assembled into the desired position, which is ensured by osteosynthetic means - screws, wires, plates, nails, external fixators).[2]
