Ablation

Ablation is (in orthopedics and traumatology) open or arthroscopic removal of a redundant part of bone (e.g. Haglund's exostoses)[1], that is, surface irregularities or pathology. [2]

In gynecology, the term ablation is used for the removal of the entire breast.
