Xanthelasma

xantelesma palpebrarum

Yellowish skin prominence most common in the upper eyelids - xantelasma palpebrarum. Xantelasmata are caused by the accumulation of fat with increased levels of lipids in the blood (hyperlipoproteinemia). They can also be in healthy people, more often seen in the elderly.
