Vitiligo

Vitiligo manifests itself postnatally in the form of patchy depigmentation of the skin. The spots are sharply demarcated , the hair growing out of them is white. The pathogenesis is unclear, it is an acquired disease, but in a certain percentage it may be genetically determined. It is probably an autoimmune blockade of melanocytes , whose melanosomes are not altered but contain little pigment.
