Symptom

- A symptom is a subjective complaint experienced and reported by the patient (e.g., pain, nausea, dyspnea).
- In contrast, a sign is an objective finding observed or measured by the clinician (e.g., fever, rash, hypotension).
- A set of several symptoms that occur frequently or regularly in a certain disease is referred to as a syndrome.
