Sternothyroid

Beginning: the dorsal side of the manubrium sterni (below the beginning of the m. sternohyoideus) and cartilago costae primae.

Attachment: linea obliqua cartilaginis thyroideae.

Innervation: ansa cervicalis profunda.

Function: retracts the larynx caudally.
