Stenocardia

Stenocardia (from the Greek stenos - narrowed, cardia - heart) is an aching, burning or pressure pain located retrosternally (more rarely precordially). It can shoot into the upper limbs, neck, lower jaw or between the shoulder blades.
Stenocardia is a manifestation of myocardial ischaemia when the coronary artery is significantly narrowed. It typically manifests after exertion or agitation, and retreats on its own or after nitroglycerin administration. If it really disappears, then it's angina. If the pain doesn't go away, then it could be a myocardial infarction.
