Statim examinations

From the point of view of speed, it is possible to distinguish between routine, statim and vital signs examinations. Results of statim examinations are usually communicated from the laboratory within 8 hours by telephone (or electronically).

  • Serum ionogram - Na+, K+, Cl-, Ca2+, Mg2+, phosphate
  • Urine ionogram - Na+, K+, Cl-, Ca2+, Mg2+, phosphates
  • Acid-base balance indicators and lactate
  • Astrup - pH, pO2, pCO2, HCO3-, BE
  • Urinalysis - urea, serum and urine creatinine, creatinine clearance, nitrogen balance, uric acid
  • Liver examination - bilirubin, ammonia, ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, LD, amylase, lipase
  • Metabolism - glucose, cholesterol, triacylglycerols
  • Nutritional testing - albumin, prealbumin, transferrin
  • Cardiac markers - CK, CK-MB, CK-MB mass, myoglobin, troponin T or I
  • Markers of inflammation - CRP, procalcitonin
