Seldinger technique
Seldinger technique is a procedure for inserting vascular catheters. A special wire (with a "J" end to protect the vessel wall) is inserted through the puncture needle and the needle is removed. Then the catheters suitable for the examination are inserted using a wire and the wire is removed. For easier penetration into the vessel, the entrance can first be adjusted using dilators. The technique is used in angiography, chest drainage, or the insertion of a central venous catheter.
