Description: PK – dermal surface, PS – conjunctival surface, EP – epidermis (multilayered squamous keratinized epithelium), ES – conjunctival epithelium (multilayered cylindrical), VF – eyelash hair follicle, Ci – cilia (eyelashes), GTM – glandulae tarsales Meibom (sebaceous, holocrine, unrelated to the follicle), GCM – glandulae ciliares, Molli (apocrine, opening into the follicle), GSZ – glandulae sebaceae Zeissi (sebaceous, holocrine, opening into the cilia follicle), TP – tarsal plate , MOO – musculus orbicularis oculi (striated), C – blood vessel.
