Morley reflex

Morley's peritoneocutaneous reflex is the transmission of pain from cerebrospinal myelinated nerve endings in the parietal peritoneum or adjanced structures to the appropriate skin area. It has the character to sharp, localized somatic pain and arises during the transition of inflammation or other pathological process to the parietal peritoneum. In addition to the pain, the reflex is also responsible for the defense musculaire.[1]
