Keshan disease

Keshan disease is a juvenile endemic cardiomyopathy, that occurred in some areas of China between 1960 and 1970 as a result of dietary selenium deficiency. Symptoms of Keshan disease were first described in the Keshan area of ​​Heilongjiang Province (Northeast China).
