Hypoventilation
Hypoventilation is shallow (hypopnea) and slowed (bradypnea) breathing, during which the air supply is less than the current requirements of the organism. Hypoventilation causes hypercapnia and respiratory acidosis. It can appear during poisoning with alcohol, administration of certain psychotropic drugs, etc.
