Granuloma pyogenicum

Granuloma pyogenicum is a benign mesenchymal tumor, consisting mainly of granulation tissue. It is also called lobular capillary hemangioma. It grows fast and has a red color. It tends to be exulsed. It occurs in soft tissues after a minor trauma and the entry of a microorganism. It is treated surgically. It is a source of epistaxis. We find it in the vault of the nasopharynx. Malignant variants, angiosarcomas, are rare.
