Endoscopy in Plastic Surgery

  • Advantages: safety, effectiveness, small scars, low morbidity, reduced pain, shorter hospitalization + incapacity for work, reduced incidence of infectious complications and hematomas.
  • Disadvantages: initial costs, contraindications for endoscopic procedures.
  • Reconstructive surgery: subsurface tissue manipulation from a remote approach with minimal scarring; placement of tissue expanders; muscle flap, fascia, vein/nerve graft acquisition; treatment syndrom canalis carpi
  • Aesthetic surgery: minimization of scars; forehead lift + brow lift (lowering of the forehead and eyebrows), supplement to face lift + neck lift, augmentation mammaplasty, abdominoplasty etc.
