Bathmotropism

From WikiLectures

Bathmotropism refers to an influence of the modified excitability of a heart muscle cell. The term may be used for a description of the degree of excitability of neurons as well. Negative bathmotropic effects lead to decreased (lower) excitability of the cell's membrane, whereas positive bathmotropic effects describe increased (higher) response of the cell to its stimulation.
