Anterior cervical triangle

Anterior cervical triangle, another name for anterior cervical region, is an unpaired anterior topographical region of the neck.

Borders:

• cranially – mandible;
• laterally – sternocleidomastoid muscles;
• caudally – jugular notch of the sternum;
• ventrally – covered by platysma.

Other topographic areas are part of this region. These include the submental triangle, submandibular triangle, omotracheal triangle, carotid triangle, sternocleidomastoid region, and the deep scalenovertebral triangle. All the structures that we find in these areas are also the content of the anterior cervical region.
