It is an old designation for the unit of pressure, which we encounter very often in medicine. 1 Torr is equal to the hydrostatic pressure exerted by 1 millimeter of mercury - also referred to as mmHg.
It applies: 1 torr = 1 mmHg = 133.322 Pa
