The most common occupational diseases in the Czech Republic

From WikiLectures

Previously, miners suffered the most from occupational diseases, later they were overtaken by the "health care industry", today metal-production workers are in first place (the incidence of scabies has decreased in the health care industry).

The most common are diseases caused by physical factors (carpal tunnel syndrome), then skin, lung, and infectious diseases. The health sector is dominated by scabies, hepatitis and tuberculosis. In agriculture anthropozoonoses (trichophyceus, erysipeloid, Lyme borreliosis).

The numbers of occupational diseases caused by chemicals are decreasing thanks to compliance with the permissible exposure limits (PEL) and the NPK-P, acute poisonings are now a matter of emergency situations.
