Styloid Septum
The styloid septum (septum styloideum) is a septum made of muscles and their fascia. It is located in the space around the larynx and divides it into spatium prestyloideum and spatium retrostyloideum. It extends between the pharynx and the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
Muscles of the septum:
- m. stylohyoid,
- m. styloglossus,
- m. stylopharyngeus,
- m. digastricus - venter posterior,
- m. sternocleidomastoid.
The muscles are attached to the lamina praetrachealis fasciae cervicalis.
