Reproduction of Bacteria

1. Reproduction of bacteria is asexual.
2. Reproduce via binary fission (A cell splits into two, creating identical copies of itself).

The steps involved in binary fission:

• Replication - Making an exact duplicate of its chromosome
• Then bacterium begin to elongate and pinch off at the center
• Chromosome moves to opposite sides
• Cell wall grows to fill in the pinched gap at the center
• Separation of the two identical cells.
