Nasal bone

The nasal bone (os nasale) is a small paired bone of the skull.
Anatomical Structures[edit | edit source]
The ossicles are attached to the pars nasalis ossis frontalis and to the proc. frontalis maxillae. They socialize together in the media. Together, they form the basis of the root of the nose, and the nasal cartilages then attach to their ends.
From the inside of the bone, we can observe the sulcus ethmoidalis for the nerve branch of the ophthalmicus nerve (1st branch n. trigeminus), which runs to the nail of the nose. It also contains the nasal foramen for small nerves and vessels.
Most common variations[edit | edit source]
Variations include asymmetry of both bones and small bones in adjacent seams.
