Methanol

Methanol (methanol, methylalcohol, trivially referred to as wood alcohol) is the simplest monohydric alcohol. It is used industrially as a solvent, fuel, component of antifreezes and raw material for the chemical industry. In biomedical fields it is also used as a component of fixative fluids.
