- Tie the armband on the level of biceps
- Observe for any well exposed vein by palpation with the indicator finger. If no vein is visible, tap gently the skin
- Choose the vein, preferably at a point that will not cause any trouble moving the hand
- Take a swab and spray some antiseptic on it
- Clean the area. One time is adequate
- Take the appropriate syringe with one hand and with the other stretch the skin on the opposite direction than the needle injection
- Inject the needle in a low angle and for few mm
- Before withdrawing the needle, untie the armband
- Remove the needle gently and at the same time move the plastic needle covering on the opposite direction
