Finger flexor reflex

The finger flexor reflex ranks among physiological myotatic (proprioceptive) reflexes on the upper limb with C8 segmental innervation.[1]
The reflex is elicited by tapping a mallet on the flexor tendons of the fingers, roughly in the middle of the ventral side of the carpal tunnel. The fingers of the hand are slightly flexed. The physiological response is a slight advance of the fingers into flexion. In case of difficulty in conducting the reflex, we invite the patient to gently press their fingers against the examiner's fingers. [2]
