Dromotropy

From WikiLectures

Dromotropy is the rate at whitch the excitation spreads in the cardiac conduction system. Positive dromotropy is accelerated propagation of the excitation in the cardiac conduction system (eg. increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system has positive dromotropic effect on the heart), while negative dromotropy means slowed propagatin of the excitation ( eg. increased activity of the parasympathetic nervous system has s negative dromotropic effect on the heart).
