A12 - Chondrogenic ossification[edit | edit source]

  • periost
  • bony cuff formed by desmogenous ossification
  • unchanged hyaline cartilagegrowing cartilage
  • hypertrophic cartilage
  • hypertrophic calcified cartilage
  • vascular loops
  • directional beams (calcified cartilage in the center, osteoblasts and osteoid on the surface)
  • osteocytes in the bone matrix
  • osteoclast


A14 - Desmogenous ossification[edit | edit source]

  • thickened mesenchyme (future periosteum)
  • bony beam
  • on the surface of the beam - osteoblasts and osteoid
  • osteocyte in the lacuna
  • bone matrix
  • osteoclast in Howship's lacuna
  • a vessel in the mesenchyme
