Edema
Fluid accumulation in the brain - increase in brain volume - due to the pressure-volume curve increase in intracranial pressure
Classification
- vasogenic
- cytotoxic
- osmotic
- hydrostatic
- ischemic (combination of vasogenic and cytotoxic)
Consequences - intracranial hypertension - restriction of blood flow to the brain! Symptoms identical to intracranial hypertension.

- Poruchy – záněty, ischemie, ozáření
- Zvýšení systémového tlaku
- Změny osmolality ECT (otrava vodou)
- Prostupnost pro léky (ATB, dopamin)
