Arabidopsis thaliana

Arabidopsis thaliana is a 30 cm tall annual herb from the (Brassicaceae) family. It is used in genetics as a model organism, the advantage being its unpretentiousness and short generation time. It is the first plant whose genome was sequenced (in 2000).[1]
