Alveolar ridge

From WikiLectures

Alveolar processes Alveolar process refers to the part of the upper or lower jaw in which the teeth are embedded. It is constantly undergoing remodeling by osteoclasts, osteoblasts and osteocytes and after the loss of teeth, it recedes. In a healthy periodontium, the alveolar bone ends 1–2 mm from the cemento-enamel border. In the interdental space, the bone has a pyramid shape.
