Β2-agonists with a rapid onset of action

β2-agonists with rapid onset of action (RABA = rapid-acting beta agonists) are drugs used as relief drugs in the treatment of asthma bronchiale.

Drug group includes:

  • inhaled β2-agonists with a short-term effect (SABA = short-acting beta agonists)
    • fenoterol,
    • salbutamol and
    • terbutaline,
  • inhaled β2-agonist with a long-acting effect (LABA = long-acting beta agonists)
    • formoterol
