ID#: 5241 Description: This was a case of trichomonas vaginitis revealing a copious purulent discharge emanating from the cervical os.

Trichomonas vaginalis, a flagellate, is the most common pathogenic protozoan of humans in industrialized countries. This protozoan resides in the female lower genital tract and the male urethra and prostate, where it replicates by binary fission. Content Providers(s): CDC Creation Date: 1986
