Summary
DescriptionADP ATP cycle.png
English: Of central importance to the energy metabolism of all cells is the adenylate system which consists of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP), and adenosine monophosphate (AMP) together with inorganic phosphate (Pi), pyrophosphate (PPi), and magnesium ions. The hydrolysis of ATP is highly exergonic and used to drive numerous endergonic biochemical processes.ATP acts as a free-energy donor in most energy-requiring processes such as motion, active transport, or biosynthesis.
This chemical image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “ADP ATP cycle.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
