Beginning: linea obliqua cartilaginis thyroideae.
Attachment: cornu majus ossis hyoidei.
Innervation: r. ventralis n. cervicalis C1 (via nervus hypoglossus).
Function: retracts the larynx when the larynx is fixed, raises the larynx when the larynx is fixed (eg when singing high notes).
