- The concept of Multifactorial diseases is explained via a widely accepted model, called quantitative inheritance.
- Quantitative inheritance - genes in several loci interact to generate a susceptibility to the effects of adverse environmental trigger factors.
- These multifactorial or polygenic conditions are for instance : hypertension, diabetes, Alzheimer, cleft lip and palate.
