Lymph Nodes and Collectors of Upper and Lower Limbs

The lymph nodes of the upper limb drain excess interstitial fluid from that region into the subclavian trunk, which ends in the Azygos vein. The lymph nodes of the lower limb drain into the iliac and pelvic lymph nodes, which then drain into the Azygos vein as well

Lymph Nodes of the Upper Limb[edit | edit source]

  • Anterior/pectoral - breast and anterior thoracic wall
  • Posterior/sub-scapular - posterior thoracic wall
  • Lateral - arm, forearm and hand
  • Supratrochlear - skin of anterior forearm and arm
  • Infraclavicular - skin of shoulder and lower neck

Lymph Nodes of the Lower Limb[edit | edit source]

  • Superficial inguinal - skin of the buttocks, skin of the penis and labia minora
  • Deep inguinal - anterior perineum, thigh, leg and foot
  • Cloquet's
  • Popliteal sole of foot, skin of the posterior calf
