Hemosiderin

Hemosiderin is a storage form of iron. It is formed by the aggregation of ferritin molecules and lysosomes when the concentration of iron in the body is high. The hemosiderin molecule is larger than ferritin, its iron-binding capacity is also higher, but it is much more difficult to release iron from hemosiderin than from ferritin.
