User page[edit | edit source]

Hello Garasone,

Thank you for your additions to WikiLectures. I saw you found your user page where you add things about yourself and upload a picture of yourself etc. More information about how to do these things you can find under Help:Contents. I would also appreciate if you could stick to English in everything concerning WikiLectures, so that both English and Czech students etc can help and understand what is going on.

Once again welcome and enjoy. --Handeka 19:11, 26 July 2011 (CEST)

I just tried to insert my photo to my user page. But I can´t find myself in the list of users. How it is possible? Can somebody advice me, please? --Garasone

Hello Garasone, uploading files is really simple! I know you hate reading manuals and help articles, but try to read help to images :-). Just click to the left menu “Toolbox”, choose link “Upload file” and go on. Inserting the image to your user page is described in the help...
I have another advice for you: when writing to the discussion page, you can insert a signature after your comment by clicking the button above the edit field (Your signature with timestamp).
And thanks for your new articles, they are pretty good! Please, stay with us and continue :-) -- Slepi (Editorial Board of WikiLectures) 23:49, 26 July 2011 (CEST)

Hi, Slepi,

Thank you :) You know me very well - I hate reading manuals - I think that things should flow naturally :) I have already inserted my photo but I am not able to put it into my user page. Doesn´t matter. Maybe next time. You are welcome. I am here just for Bilogy and Genetics :) --Garasone 15:54, 27 July 2011 (CEST)

Hi Garasone,

just edit your user page and insert code [[File:Garasone.JPG| 100 px | left]]. You can insert any image in the article this way. You can use also the button Button image.png in your edit window. --Romerova.jpg Michaela Romerova -- Editorial Board of WikiLectures 16:22, 27 July 2011 (CEST)

Hey! Thank you, guys. I have done it. And what more...I just learned how to insert pictures into my articles. I am going to use it well. Nice to co-operate with you. --Garasone 17:44, 27 July 2011 (CEST)

Article titles[edit | edit source]

Dear Garasone,

Thank you for your many genetics articles. I see that you pick your topics of the Exam topics list from the first faculty. Some of us are not from the First Faculty and we do not have lists of exam topics. Thus when we study for these exams we will just use the search function. Therefore these topics are not appropriate title names for articles and thus it is better to create conciser named articles. E.g. "Meiosis and its disturbances" should be named only "Meiosis".

On the topic list you can then use [[Meiosis| Meisosis and its disturbances]] to properly link the shorter named article. Thank you, --De Boer.jpg Hanneke de Boer -- Editorial Board of WikiLectures 16:40, 23 August 2011 (CEST)

Hi, Handeka. I am sorry, it is my fault. I thought that these pages are used just by our faculty. So I follow just our exam topics. But now I understand so I am going to do it in your way. If I will be technically able to do that. --Garasone 17:19, 23 August 2011 (CEST)
