Decreased number of teeth[edit | edit source]

  • Hypodontia - <6 teeth missing
  • Oligodontia - >6 teeth missing
  • Anodontia - All teeth missing. Associated with ectodermal dysplasias

Increased number of teeth[edit | edit source]

  • Hyperdontia (supranumerary teeth)
  1. Mesiodens - Lies between two central incisors incisors
  2. Paramolars - Alongside with maxillary molars
  3. Distomolars - Located distally of third molars

Anomalies in size of teeth[edit | edit source]

  • Macrodontia
  • Microdontia
