Cervical Sympathetic System

Preganglionic sympathetic fibers[edit | edit source]

  • Originate from the intermediolateral nucleus of the spinal cord (level of T1- T3)
  • Pass to ventral root of spinal cord
  • Then proceed to white ramus communicantes
  • Ascend to cervical chain and synapse either to superior, middle or inferior cercal SYM ganglia
  • Majority of the synapse in the superior sympathetic ganglion
