Phenocopy refers to a manifested phenotype caused by environmental factors that resembles or is identical to one caused by genetic factors. Often, phenocopies are brought about by drugs or chemical substances, e.g. corticoid-induced diabetes as a phenocopy of genetically determined diabetes.
