"Dentulous" Jaw Pain

  • Reversible pulpitis
Well localized pain
Sharp pain upon stimulus, but disappears immediately
Pain on hot and cold beverages and foods
  • Irreversible pulpitis
NOT well localized pain (can even project in the eye or the ear)
Pain at night without any particular stimulus
  • Dentinal hypersensitivity
  • Acute periapical periodontitis
Percussion pain
